AWOL

This is just a quick note to offer apologies and an explanation. I have approximately ten days left before my annual move to my summer job at the lake. This involves basically moving house and somehow it has snuck up on me this year! lol I will be back online within two weeks - thank you for your patience!

Build a Seam Challenge - Week 23

This week's BAS (Build a Seam) Challenge is this series of cross stitches. It goes 3 at the top side of the seam with one below the seam under the center one, leave a space, three on the bottom side with one on the top above the center stitch, leave a space, and then continue on in the same pattern. I used some of the gorgeous Sassa Lynne Fine Perle thread. Serendipity is the name of the colour. I am a sucker for varigated and overdyes and this one is a favourite. I hope you are inspired to do something with this framework of stitches. Have fun!

Block pieced for Dylan

I am on a roll here piecing blocks it seems like. This one is for my darling little grand-nephew, Dylan. The idea I had is to make a birth sampler, including his full name, date of birth and weight in the embroidery embellishments. Then I will frame this up and send it off. So, the piecing is done at last - I procrastinate so much when it comes to piecing! - and now the fun part of seams, etc starts.

Block Pieced for Spider Round Robin

There is a tradition of stitching a spiderweb and spider on crazy quilt blocks for good luck so it was a natural extention that the idea should be developed for a round robin centering on spiders and webs. This is the second such round robin at CQI so far and I am fortunate to be in this one with some wonderful stitchers. I can't wait to see what they come up with! This is my block for this round robin which I finished piecing today and will mail away in the morning. I am so tired of winter that all I could think of was spring colours and hope to see a few flowers growing on this block before long. I am very very tired of snow!
